Applications
are now being
accepted for
the 4th
African
Discovery Camp
for
Research-based
Training
in Science for
the
Sustainable
Use and
Management of
Marine
Ecosystems and
their
Resources.
Course
participants
will learn
about
microbial and
geochemical
oceanography,
in particular
about ways in
which microbes
participate in
geochemical
cycles in
upwelling
ecosystems and
how chemical,
physical and
atmospheric
processes in
turn influence
microbial
physiology.
PhD
students,
postdoctoral
researchers,
honors MSc
students, and
professors are
invited to
apply, if they
consider the
microbiological
and
geochemical
topics of
interest to
their own
research.
Participation
is limited to
14. Previous
camps have
brought
together
students and
faculty form
Africa with
participants
from other
parts of the
world.
The
Research Camps
were launched
in 2014 as a
result of the
SCOR Visiting
Scholar and
Regional
Graduate
Network for
Oceanography
activities.
