4th African Discovery Camp for Research-based Training in Science

4th African Discovery Camp for Research-based Training in Science for the Sustainable Use and Management of Marine Ecosystems and their Resources
Applications are now being accepted for the 4th African Discovery Camp for Research-based Training in Science for the Sustainable Use and Management of Marine Ecosystems and their Resources.
Course participants will learn about microbial and geochemical oceanography, in particular about ways in which microbes participate in geochemical cycles in upwelling ecosystems and how chemical, physical and atmospheric processes in turn influence microbial physiology.
PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, honors MSc students, and professors are invited to apply, if they consider the microbiological and geochemical topics of interest to their own research. Participation is limited to 14. Previous camps have brought together students and faculty form Africa with participants from other parts of the world.
The Research Camps were launched in 2014 as a result of the SCOR Visiting Scholar and Regional Graduate Network for Oceanography activities.
Deadline for Applications: 10 March 2017
Course Coordinator: Dr. Chibo Chikwililwa (cchikwililwa (at) unam.na)
